After 7 months of work, 350 hours, 34 hours of video documentation, this is the complete story of bringing this 130 year old family shepherd's wagon back to life again, using all the original irons and as much original wood as possible. Thanks for being a part of history.
Spring for mugs, tee-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies.

I think you’d be surprised at how many builders/fabricators are out there making something out of what most people would consider a pile of junk. Having said that, this sheep wagon was quite the accomplishment.

Thank you Dave and Diane for allowing us the pleasure of watching the original 350 hours of video while you were working on this Shepherd's Wagon. It was very well worth watching the full session. It was amazing seeing some of the tricks of your trade to incorporate as much original materials as you possibly could for the Customer who was related to the original builder and had the Wagon rebuilt and kept in the family. Thanks again for allowing me to tag along . Fred.

Dave. You’re a sucker for what is right, proper or appropriate. I doubt with great skepticism that you’re paid what you’re worth! I do medical equipment maintenance daily and have the same malady you suffer from. May cost me employment in the future, but darn it’, what is right is RIGHT. Not sure what that says but I’ll stand by my work as you have.

I subscribed during the Borax build, and I am still amazed at how skilled you are at your craft. I like many others see the start of a project and think there's nothing good in this pile of old wood that has any value, and then you let the pile of old wood talk and tell its story and you rebuild old scrap wood in to a wonderful living piece of history Thank you both for all that you do for humanity. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Just watched this video and realized and recognized you. Years ago my dad restored sheep wagons and we made a trip to your shop to buy a tongue and double trees. I remember your steamer for bows. I started thinking of terminology of the iron working process and looked this up to get it straight in my head. I thought I would share. Hope it helps someone else too. Annealing is a heat treatment process that changes the physical and sometimes also the chemical properties of a material to increase ductility and reduce the hardness to make it more workable. The annealing process requires the material above its recrystallization temperature for a set amount of time before cooling. Forging is a manufacturing process involving the shaping of a metal through hammering, pressing, or rolling. These compressive forces are delivered with a hammer or die. Forging is often categorized according to the temperature at which it is performed-cold, warm, or hot forging. A wide range of metals can be forged.
