I was given a Miller Generator Welder that had not been used for 10 plus years. What led to the Generator Welder not being used was it was turned on its side after a service truck flipped on its side. The welder sat in a shop until it was moved to my house. Where it sat unused for another 9 months. When finally, I decided to tackle the challenge of starting the Old Onan Engine and testing the welders' abilities.
I struggled to get the fuel system working after sitting for all of those years. After 2 hours of shooting brake clean and compressed air through the fuel bowl there was flowage of fuel.
I used Mobil 15w 40 oil in the engine. I am unsure that it is the correct oil. Seems like a good choice.
I put Berryman B12 in the fuel tank to help bring the engine around.
When testing the welder, I used Hobart 1/8" 6013 welding rod.
This was a great successful project.
I am not sure how to make the welder and trailer more functional. I need some Ideas of what to do.
