Ah, happy days! The tip on how to get a Serato Pitch 'N Time individual licence @ 38:15 was fantastic! Worked for me as I just bought it to added to my DJ pro licence. Yahtzee! There is a workaround for organising streaming tracks by BPM, Key, etc.. Create a prep playlist and slide the streaming tracks into that playlists, then open the playlist on your gear (I use SC6000's) and you should be able to sort the tracks in that playlist. It is a workaround and no you don't need a laptop. Also, besides the individual device ID's being needed for the login codes to work... I also think the the profile sign in option is fantastic, and while I agree that if you are djing on your own set of SC6000's or SC 5000's at home, signing in both at once would be great... but perhaps the reason it is only on each player, is because if you are taking over from another DJ, then you sign in on the 2nd standalone while they finish up their set.... then you drop your track and then when you move to the next track, you sign in on the other deck. Maybe this is why it's separate but it would be useful to be able to choose if you want to sign into both at once or not...just a thought. Great vid as always. * UPDATE* nervermind, found it: Tidal tracks do show up under the prepare section: so I guess this is what you described, the only downside would be to slide each individual track, I have hundreds if not thousands in Tidal. Thanks! I'm actually trying to make this work as I type this: "Create a prep playlist and slide the streaming tracks into that playlists, then open the playlist on your gear". Would you mind explaining it a bit more? I'm on a SC6000 or SC6000m, I opened Tidal, picked a track, slided it to the right, then prepare, this takes the track into the prepare section on the left hand side, but to get to it from the tidal playlists, I need to click source, then choose my usb drive, then I can actually see the PREPARE section, I see the tidal track in there, but no option to sort by BPM or key. Very much appreciated if there is way to sort by BPM like Serato does. I'm logged in with my profile, so I can see that the tidal tracks that I load up are actually populating into the Tidal database, that is awesome. I will most likely load all and analyze all my tracks but this will take a long time, happy to at least being able to contribute to the broad Tidal community, since BPM is being carried over globally. @gustavoacs2010 Hi there. Yes, you raise a crucial point regarding TIDAL, regarding the analysis data - BPM, Key etc... I use Beatport Link to stream, so all the available tracks have this data, which makes this workaround possible. I think that now that the TIDAL is out of Beta, the crowd sourcing method of getting the track data will eventually give you an almost complete list of analysed tracks and is a fantastic step in the right direction, in my humble opinion. However, with Tidal, you are correct... At the moment, you still need to analyse the track before putting it into a prep playlist in order to make the sorting option by BPM, etc, available. One solution that Denon and Engine could look at, is that as soon as you slide a track into a prep playlist, that hasn't been analysed, it gets analysed in the background as you continue adding tracks. This may already be the case as I still need to try this. I hope this helps, and I can totally sympathise. I have playlists for every genre on Beatport Link and add to them daily. The one real plus is that I only need the subscription and don't need to buy the tracks to access pretty much the whole libary. With Denon and Engine Dj's system of preloading and saving the track, it means even if my connection goes down, that track won't disappear. Having offline lockers of tracks for gigs is also a bonus, but I do think that all streaming platforms need to look at on device track management. Have an awesome one, and apologies for the lengthy reply.

Looks like ‘compatible’ is only directly compatible tracks in native key. Fuzzy has more tracks that will work that if key sync is pressed. Is that correct ?

Hey Phil, I just tried to update my Prime 4 from the web, but it just 'hanged' for half hour. Luckily I was able to turn it off and back again and 3.2 and the general operation was intact (phew!). Will try again later but useful to know if anyone has had any issues? I have never had any serious issues with uploading the software before (nothing to brick the machine or affect general playing).

As far as we know, although the Prime 2 is no longer available, it is getting the updates just like all the other units. Stems (acapellas/instrumentals) is only a beta feature on the Prime 4+ at the moment, and honestly, you're not missing much - they don't sound great at this stage.

If you buy Denon, make sure to get the best warranty you can from your retailer because they have terrible quality control. We’ve had to replace three SC6000’s, one SC5000 and one X1800 within a year. The Prime series also can’t handle all the garbage they’re cramming into the firmware. I had to revert to firmware 2.2 on my 5000’s because every iteration beyond that contains issues.

we are still wondering why Denon and Native Instruments still are not able to get along to implement Traktor compability to the Prime Hardware. Meanwhile we start to think that Native Instruments has an agreement with Pioneer that doesnt allow NI to make there software compatible with Denon? You know something that we maybe dont what could be the reason? as beside of such thing we cant find any reason why this doesnt happen as this would be a big plus for both companies especially in the unfolded competition situation they are in today.

NI makes its own DJ hardware, so apart from compatibility with "club standarD" CDJs, is not motivated to make TP compatible with other brands. Plus practically, TP's jogwheels are almost impossible to map.

@@digitaldjtips we do installations in around 12 clubs and we should already change "club standard" to "Most used" in best case. The times where other DJs come and all expect an Pioneer Set are already over. Nowadays many have their own request. and not more then 50% are Pioneer. Or they already bring their own gear. We see Prime4 often. SC500/SC6000 in opposite nobody uses. And part of the problem is that the CDJ3000 has several problems and bugs. Experienced Touring DJs who come to town even prefer a Nexus2 Set meanwhile over the CDJ3000. Since Pioneer was sold to that investor group many things have changed. everybody can analyse for himself if to the good or to the bad side...

left hand deck stops working, only way out is a reboot of console, then might work for 10-mins or so then left hand deck not working again, had 2 nights working just on the right hand deck, might work for an hour or ten mins, reset tried updated via usb (previous update via wi-fi) still having issues, currently rolled back to previous version, so far been fine testing at home, next gig is thursday, hopeful I can sort out before then @@digitaldjtips

Folder, or playlist? The fact that you chose the term "folder" makes me feel like you're just dumping your music onto a USB and not using Engine DJ to sync your music. If so, you're making your life unnecessarily difficult.

Track Match doesn't take consideration in the ability to change de current key of a song. ...

As long as you are happy for the key of the song to change at most 2 semitones, then Key Sync will do that for you (it uses fuzzy keymixing, meaning it never moves the key more than 2 semitones). Thus you can leave key switched off entirely in Match and just use the Key Sync button on whatever you choose using the other criteria of Match.

If Denon really want to compete with Rekordbox / Serato, then they need to make Engine DJ PC/Mac OS based. Maybe even make a full fledge iPad OS version that works exactly the same and the stand alone software that is midi compatible with all controllers

It would be great to see this, but would take a lot of R&D and they would be entering an already crowded market. But they do have three big brands (Numark, Rane, Denon DJ) - so who knows?

I can't believe I've had my Prime 4+ for 3 months now with the excitement of having on board stems and still not a word about a proper release. All these upgrades are great and all, but where the hell are the Stems that were promised for this unit??? Any word from Denon? I know they needed work, but come on already! Makes me a but nervous that they will never be on par with Serato and VDJ, which would be a bit disappointing.

Stems are in beta. Technically it does have stems, but it'll be a while til it's fully ready. These things take much longer than 3 months my friend

@@TradingTheta89 then to be honest, They should have waited on 4 plus. That was the main feature upgrade. It should have been available upon release in my opinion. At least a very basic beta version that can separate vocals and instruments. I understand it's complicated to do this on a standalone unit. I'm patient, as Denon has been a rock solid company in supporting DJs with their software upgrades and rock solid hardware. However, I feel a bit slighted that I paid to upgrade to the 4 plus and there isn't as much as a peep as far as the development of stems on the standalone unit. I'm willing to give it time, but just give me an update or a beta that I can work with. Otherwise I would have rather just stuck with my Prime 4.

@@djstuc I tested their public beta. It was utter crap. Bleeds and artifacts that weren't even usable in any of my sets. I don't think it's anything the public needs to tell them that they don't already know. Haven't heard a peep on the developers end as far as any progress. I'm more concerned about that than the silence on the beta testers side. We didn't buy these units to become beta testers by the way. This was a feature that should have been much further along before they put the 4 + on the market, which is basically a Prime 4 with a darker appearance without the stem separation.

I'm just wondering where the development is for a feature that was promised on the unit. 3 months in is a fairly decent amount of time to not even have an updated beta. I can get stems other ways I'm fine. I just want it on my standalone unit which was promised. I'm not wrong in saying they should have waited on the release of the Prime 4 plus until stem separation was further along than it currently is.

I would have give up all of the new updates, its pointless....nobody use it, instead i will work on more stability for the os, i would stay with beat/key matching like in vdj, i would keep the stems option, effects, and thats it, all other options are useless, its pointless to put tons of features in an os but it lacks reliability and stability, u buy a not cheap controller just to find out that it got alot of features but it will crash inbthe middle of a gig because the os is not stable so whats the point?

It's a standalone! It is not so easy to do on such gear. But we agree, stems are becoming more important.
