All i have ever done is simple bracket racing..but i am hooked on your videos the knowledge that you have from doing this for so many years just amazes me.. i appreciate the time you have taken and all the videos you have done breaking down every section or step it takes to build not only a quality race car but also a safe race car it make sense how everything you do is to most importantly keep the driver safe in his office how you cut no corners and also how important the little things are in a race car thank you again Mr. McAmis for your knowledge and the information you share even with me just a weekend warrior.

were do u put the level . I all ways put it front to back were the intake Seals go on the block . I seen others put it on the carb pad on the intake . but i all ways felt it should be put on the block . most intakes r raised higher in the rear . by putting the level on the block . the carbs are level under acceleration

Manufacturer of factory cars always installed the engine into the engine bay so the front of the engine was higher than the back of the engine block. The engine block needs to slope from front to back. The reason for this was so that the coolant, being water based, when the water portion turned to steam, was able to migrate to the thermostat housing and into the radiator.
@fastone371 Жыл бұрын
As long as the fill cap is the highest point the cooling system will work just fine. The real reason OEM cars have the block higher at the front is the same reason these drag cars are mounted higher at the rear, to get the output shaft pointed at the pinion CL. OEM cars = high crankshaft CL (12"-15") and small diameter tires, 27"-30" vs drag cars with low crankshaft CL (8"-12") and large diameter tires = 33"-36".

How about a front to rear weight percentage number to shoot for?
@Timmcamis4 жыл бұрын
There are too many combinations, intended racing type, set-ups, etc. to give a general range in a single video. We can possibly do one that is typical on a standard NHRA Pro Mod set-up, but if people are interested. However, that information won't be useful for 98% of racers out there.

Although I know it would be almost impossible. Be nice to be able to adjust the engines 3 axis’ position, like you can the rear suspension set-up
