Refined crude causes cancer. Unrefined crude will not. Smoke contains carcinogens. Carcinogens cause cancer. Bbq's coat your food with carcinogens. 3 years ago, I learned from SVM that sawdust causes cancer. Damn. Prop 65 says almost everything in California causes cancer.

I am this old. We call that a Fuel Oil Burner. Used to have a 2 burner stove we melted lead on as a kid. Heated the burner plate with an alcohol rag to lite it.

First off motor oil is expensive and toxic, carcinogenic. Second used motor oil is even more toxic and carcinogenic. You would be better off using something like vegetable oil. I still don’t think it would burn clean enough. Even natural gas is not clean enough that’s why we have chimneys to exhaust the gas.

The concept of forced air to achieve clean burn (blue flame) is SO outdated. There is plenty of way to do it without using electricity which make those system way more reliable for any circomstances, even in the context of elecricity outage... C'mon, you can do better than that. Some Russian mastered it, 4-5 years ago, already. Their mastery of physics is more advanced than it is for the average American, that's for sure.

Sometimes you can go to a small none chain franchise ma and pa mechanic shop and they'll let you buy their used oil cheap and always use yours from your last change!!!! Tell your friends you'll take care of their used oil as well get yourself a couple of jeep cans and fill them up for a survival scinario!!!! As long as you can create a fast updraft in a contraption it shouldn't smoke!!!! Rocket stoves are a good candidate if you can create a slow drip feed that won't light your reservoir!!!!
