Thanks for sharing. Remember to Stow your brakes first before trying to restart your motor.

Ya thanks man. I’ll remember for next time. I was a bit panicked and never rehearsed what to do before.

What does turtled mean in Canada? In America we say you turtled when you fall on your back with the motor on, like a turtle on the ground upside down because of its shell. Also, go up to a few thousand feet above your lz and purposely shut your motor off. Stow your brakes on their magnets and practice using both hands to restart. It should be no big deal if it stalls out during flight and you’ve got a little bit of altitude. I stalled at like 100 feet a little while ago and was able to give it a quick rip and got it fired right back up so I didn’t have to land out. Keep in mind, the engine can stall at anytime, don’t fly over an area you can’t glide to and land at in case you have a problem. Glad it worked out for you and you had good flights!

Oh ya I guess hey. More like a faceplant. Ya we diagnosed the issue. The carb membrane was deformed from using improper gas. Shouldn’t be a problem in the future. I appreciate that man. That’s kinda why I started this channel. Hoping for feedback like this from pilots like yourself. Every little bit of info is helpful. Thanks.

@@chromeaviation I wouldn’t have even thought to look for an issue. These motors are known to stall for no reason, or if you pull hard G’s for a second or two. I wouldn’t definitely expect stalls in the future. And everyone has a theory on what the proper fuel to run is. What was the improper type that you say you were running?

@@JPTulo whatever the flight school gave me. I think it was avgas. I had 8 engine outs on 8 flights with only 8 hours on the engine. My mechanic rebuilt the carb and replaced the membrane. It’s good this happened early as it prepared me to fly cautiously as you said. But it was preventing me from learning more stuff like foot drags and stuff. Problem should be fixed now though.

I was thinking we should have a bit of a gathering of the guys who fly around here. Just need someone willing to host. It is hard to find a LZ that you can host a larger groop.
