Engineered polymer sleeper - Rail sleepers: sustainable, and long-lasting (Advanced infrastructure)

Our new engineered polymer sleeper (EPS) is made of „amalentic“ -
a material which was developed by Vossloh - and provides customers
with an environmentally friendly alternative to wooden ties. Wooden
ties are normally treated with creosote, which is extremely problematic
for the environment and health. The new EPS is also far more costeffective
over its entire service life. Engineered polymer sleepers have
a service life of around 50 years, which is almost twice as long as of
wooden ties. The material is 100% recyclable and is suitable for an
extremely wide range of uses.
