Great Review and quick and easy way for someone to start into UV top coats. I'm finding myself moving away from the Alumi UV and modified nail curing station and going back to DevCon and other epoxies. The last time I used my AlumiUV I had bubbles all in the final coat. First time that had happened in forever!

Thanks for the review. I work in a corner of my garage, so this may be what I need. I did not see a link for your merchandise, cups t-shirts and such. This channel is by far my favorite. I have been wood working for about 60 years (I am 74 this month) and making lures for about 10. Keep up the excellent work.

You need to go to the description for the video. If your watching on a cellphone it can be a bit tough to get to so here's the link. The price jumped a couple of dollars since I bought it. amzn.to/375fi2Q

Thanks for the resin review Franco! Very well done (as usual), I like your testing methodology! I'm all set with resin(s) and lights but if I was just starting out I would consider buying two or three kits and building an end to end array of the lights over a simple turner. You could only cure one lure at a time but that shouldn't be a big problem for most people. Cheers!

I had the same idea about building an array with the little UV light set. Here in Indonesia I can get them online for about $2.50 USD. I used to have a UV light curing station with the florescent light bulbs but they all died pretty quick and replacement bulbs with the type of base aren't available.

Here in Indonesia just yesterday I was planning on ordering some UV resin because I'm down to just a few grams. I went back to my regular online supplier but they were out of the green bottle variety. Instead they offered a much less expensive brand that according to the product information the liquid state odor was more pronounced and the viscosity was different than the green bottle type plus it requires a longer uv light cure time (but they didn't mention if it was thicker or thinner). It's not offered with a light but guessing it might be the same stuff tested in the video, so I'm going to give it a try. Also, I've seen lots of those little UV lights here for only about $2-$3 online but it seemed a bit sketchy so I never bought one but at that price I can buy several and make an array in my portable UV box. Thanks for the info!

Hi Mr. Franco, Is the strength of the wave length reflected from a mirror as effective as the direct waves? Science rocks !
@EngineeredAnglerАй бұрын
No because there's always loss from dispersion and distance when the light travels to the mirror and back. That said, using a mirror is a good idea, it makes the most of your wattage.

Great and thorough review! I was wondering if you had ever compared the durability and quality of the finish on the lures between us resin and two part slow curing epoxy?
@EngineeredAngler2 жыл бұрын
I have done some informal comparisons and I think that the UV is harder and will not yellow overtime but you have to put an extra coat or too for toothy critters. The hardness also makes it slightly brittle if it is too thin.

looks good. can you tell us what the nanometers are on that light ?
@EngineeredAngler2 жыл бұрын
There's no information on the lights...but they seem to cure the resin pretty quickly.

I’m glad to see this . Do you think the durability between the three is the same ? May have a good excuse to go fishing lol !
@EngineeredAngler2 жыл бұрын
I think so! But the new one is a bit less viscus so you'll probably need to put an extra coat on.

Seems like you need to do a lot of testing in the field over multiple days and conditions to find the answer 😂. Tight lines.

Does this reflect the uv under water
@EngineeredAngler2 ай бұрын
No, it is a clear coat so it won't reflect UV.

Couldn't find your uv starter kit. Looks like they decided too cheap. All prices with little lamp either either 100g or priced way higher. Oh well.
