From how I understand it: Lower elevation dirt = Larger chunks of ore/gem Ore veins = Higher likelihood to get a specific type of ore from the generated dirt Higher tier miners = Ability to drill higher tier dirt + ability to take higher pressure water inputs = Faster mining

All correct. Water pressure is speed only, tier is weight/value range (also corestone can only be drilled at t2/3). The splashing at the pipe on the t2 and t1 drills are because they were being fed pressure above their max. RCE does need to ditch the shredder hook on his main file tho. They're no longer available in the shops because they are no longer necessary since they fixed harvesters.

easiest way to find the vein, is the leave the drill in the ground, get out with it still in the ground and look at the machine. it shows the shaft (giggity) in the ground and stops directly where the vein is. then you just dig to the tip (giggity) of the shaft (double giggity) and there it is.

There's a mine inside Icehelm too RCE! The drills actually output dirt containing a range of weights which scales up based on the tier - pretty sure the maths and ranges for each drill are on the wiki
@maartmaster
@maartmaster Жыл бұрын
the reason all chunks from the drills are similar is because dirt chunks can "Clump together" forming larger dirt clumps, basically growing in worth. Higher tier miners are just able to dig up bigger chunks at a faster rate, but all dirt can form into the largest chunk size possible

A couple of general tips: You only need one i take per line. Multiple intakes does not improve pressure. You only need one harvester. 1000 drills can all run into a single harvester, no problem. You only need five water filters for pure water. Place them soon after your intake, and only put one per pipe so you can easily repair them. Always have a general shutoff right after your intake, and shut your machines down before quitting.
