We define rise time as the time it takes to get from 10% to 90% of steady-state value (of a step response). Rise time is denoted tr . Figure 1 shows the rise time of step response of a first order transfer function.

Sir why your considering only under damped system for rise time,peak time......but why not critical damped or undamped system??

You can take that scenario also 1. In undamped system, zeta = 0 2. In critical damped system, zeta = 1

It will come for unit step response only. As mainly testing is done by unit step signal.
