Thank you for this interesting video. I don't know whether I have to prevent evaporation by wraping the beaker. And also how to set the ratio of water amount and reagent?
@EngineeringPhysicsbySanjiv
@EngineeringPhysicsbySanjiv 3 жыл бұрын
For evaporation of course we will have to remove the wrapping and the size and morphological properties of the nanomaterial can be fine-tuned by varying the concentration ratio. So one has to try different concentration ratios to get the desired size and properties..

This is general explanation. But sol gel method can be used for the fabrication of metal oxides, especially the oxides of silicon (Si) and titanium (Ti)

sir , when gel is formed, it is very thick. so how we can do centrifugation?
@EngineeringPhysicsbySanjiv
@EngineeringPhysicsbySanjiv 3 жыл бұрын
centrifugation can be used when it is not very thick. After centrifugation we will get very thick gel which can be further dried up..

As it is a dry material, it is indeed "sifting". Sifting is the sieving of dry material, whereas "sieving" can be applied to both wet or dry material.
