Its alright, but they should give the option to use o1 as it fixes code that the Canvas model can't.

Good stuff. Let’s see how they iterate from now on and what Anthropic will respond with.

Greetings. Did you write the prompt describing the task? It looks like it was generated by ChatGPT. If so, what did you tell ChatGPT to get that response? Thanks.

Yes, I wrote the initial prompt of what I wanted and asked chatgpt to improve the prompt. One trick is to ask the llms to critique your prompt and add features you might be missing. Helps alot with ideation

This might be exactly what you need: 1. Explore OpenAI's Canvas feature for enhanced coding collaboration. 2. Provide ChatGPT with detailed instructions for desired code outcomes. 3. Edit code directly within Canvas and request assistance from ChatGPT. 4. Test and review generated code thoroughly for functionality and security. 5. Stay informed about future Canvas updates and advancements in AI coding tools.

Thanks for your smooth content, and a question in my mind. How long will it take for OpenAI to add execution capabilities in the cloud, allow full folder downloads, or push to hosting providers, or even a VSCode extension? These additions seem inevitable for OpenAI as they focus on developers. The "Fast Follower" term refers to companies that quickly adopt proven ideas with minor innovations. In my humble opinion the Cursor seems to fit this pattern: they forked VSCode, added features, and used OpenAI models, branding it as a business. But OpenAI's improvements can easily outpace them. Fast followers may gain traction but often get eclipsed by major players unless they develop something genuinely unique. I'm excited to see how OpenAI rolls out these features.

If openai implements those features (which I don't doubt they will), I think that will be a huge productivity boost. Another point in favor of your argument will be that why would a developer pay for another service (cursor in this case), if they can get they same features with their existing subscription (openai or claude for that matter) if they offer same features. We are living in exciting times!

Is there any software that has the AI assistance built into the environment where you can run the code? Copying and pasting to and from vscode is tedious.

VScode + Codeium (but they support huge amount of other IDEs too). I am using it every day. Once this service was offline and I stopped to work :-D it's so good a do not want to code without it anymore

Haven't seen here anything, that VSCodium + Twinny + some good coding model (like qwen-2.5-coder) cannot do

You can create multiple canvas in one chat.
