This video outlines the 8 allotropes of carbon, before focusing on two in particular: diamond and graphite.
Although diamond and graphite are both structures of carbon, they differ greatly in their structure and properties. Diamond is hard and does not conduct electricity and graphite is relatively soft and a good conductor of electricity. This video explains the reasons why.
