The Typhoon has that lovable, determined, bulldog look - all business!

Steve is incorrect . Ian Slater of Typhoon Legacy in Canada is restoring a Typhoon and KermitWeeks has 2 .

Ian Slater is effectively building his from scratch. It’s a shame they don’t work more closely together as Ian has formers and CAD/CAM data to make each part. He’s spent his life researching the aircraft and was ex CAF engineering trained. Now working to recast engine cases. Amazing bloke.

What about an engine to power this restoration ? There are none.

Couldn't compete?, it was the only aircraft fast and armed enough to compete with the FW 190, were the Spitfire V was almost complete outshined, the Mk IX only was able to level the fight, but still, was too fragile, in other and the Hawker Typhoon was a excelent medium-low altitude fighter, an excelent ground atacker, with problems, yes (mostly the tail and the engine) but, it's sucesor, the Tempest V, resolved, in general, Hawker was the better company, over Super Marine, I know this video is 2 years old, but, I wil see if there is a update, thanks for the video

The Typhoon lacked a two stage supercharger which hampered it in high altitude interception & it's wing aerofoil followed an outdated idea, but it was revised & updated into the Tempest.

@@pcka12 Did you read all I wrote? because doesn't look that way, also, I think that the Tempest's laminar flow wing was better that the one in the Mustang

@ricardobeltranmonribot3182 I am an admirer of both Typhoon & Tempest but as with all aircraft there are limitations & trade offs. Later versions of the Merlin engine seem to have retained the 'edge' in their optimisation for high altitudes over the brute strength of the Typhoon's & earlier Tempest engine which remained best at low level, but the laminar flow wing helped especially at higher altitudes, the Hawker Sea Fury remains as the ultimate development fitted with the Bristol radial engine.
