Very nervous and unkumul start at first 20mins. England successfully applied speed, shock and awe game plan piling up score before Kumuls came to sense. Look at how Bati played Kiwi, great game well done . Bati is the next powerhouse. A per of senior kumuls played a conservative footy while some played their heart out. I counted 40+ missed tackles in the first 30 minutes, it stole our heart away. Otherwise, well done England for displaying a cup winning match.

Big Congratulations to England. As Olam said PNG we need to really look at our junior development program (instead of a bloody team in NRL) to build their self esteeem and confidence at a young age so when we go up against giants like England and Australia we can actually make an impact. Otherwise we just the laughing stock of the Rugby League world when we say its our "national sport" BUT cant even win a oceania/ pacific/ 4 nations/world cup. I love my Kumuls but PNGRL really needs to pull their socks up and bring back the school boys comp and juinor club comp to really build some form of discipline and structure so they don't break their focus and confidence under pressure.

Mia Kalifah has better camera angles than this world cup.. 😂 Too many inconsistent ref calls, pass at 1:18 was a clear forward pass, and the England team was offside for most of the game, running out well before the ball was even played but never called out for it..

Few things about PNG's style of play as we know were missing in this game. Obvious one being their defensive play, partly contributed by weather conditions there. They’ve made some big mistakes. First they should have kept the tournament in the RL heartlands. Second, tickets are way too expensive for the groups and quarter finals stage. Third, the cost of living emergency will have made going to games an unaffordable luxury for a lot of people in the towns and cities where the sport is popular. If the group games at Headingley were a fiver I’d have gone, but I’m not paying 15, 20 quid a ticket to watch Jamaica get pummelled by NZ.

Congrats to the English Men. Kumuls at times were sloppy with the ball and putting a lot of pressure on themselves. Probably the weather condition did not work in their favour as well. I would love to see an NRL Referee instead of the Super League Referee officiating the game to be fair. There were some blunders on offside plays in defence that the referee did not penalized the English Men for rushing up quick and not giving 10meters. Holding down in tackles by English Men with no repeat set of sixes awarded to the Kumuls but the referee was quick to give to the English Men new sets even when it wasn't a real slowing down in the tackle by the Kumuls. That really got a lot of petrol out of the tank for the Kumuls. Apart from that the Kumuls also had a short turn around time to prepare compared to the English Men and fatigue could be another factor. Otherwise England were the better team today. Kumuls can still improve at this level. Thumbs up boys and keep on flying the PNG flag Kumuls. 💪👍😎

PNG Rugby League - Improvement Need: It is obvious that PNG Kumuls did not turn up with their game and we lost. The person to answer questions is the Coach. You can see our guys were not happy with the results. They and we wanted a win but lost. We all know the hunger to win rests on having game decipeline, tactics, mental fitness, height, and weight and game structure/plan with directions. We didn't have it compared to the game against Tonga. This goes back to the PNG Government and PNGRGL. As stated by Justin Olam (JO) "we need strategic rugby league development programs/path ways, planning, and strong continuous financial backing to bring our level of Rugby League to meet Australia, New Zealand, and England. Our style of rugby league will not win a quarter finale or take us into the semi finals. The NRL bit is a dream. Do we want a PNG team that will loose year by year as wooden spoons? A PNG NRL team without development paths for progressive growth? PNG Government and PNGRFL please establish development programs with path ways to professional rugby league and prove that Rugby League is PNG National Sport at the World Stage with a professional tactical PNG Kumuls performance. Otherwise it's a blaf to say Rugby League is our National Sport. Despite all that, PNG Kumuls did their best per the Rugby League system in place at PNG and in Australia. Good effort PNG Kumuls. ❤️ My Country PNG 🇵🇬. ❤️ My Team PNG Kumuls 🇵🇬. You did well into the quarter finals and we are proud of you. We seem to be too accepting of mediocre results.from an over funded sport that has not lived up to the expectations to reflect the millions being pumped in.
