Why is anyone, and I mean anyone, surprised by the outcome here? We pick 20 over players for the 50 over side. Why? Because we only play 20 over cricket competitively in our summers (or less than 20 overs). It is criminal that in the five years since our 50 over triumph, the ECB has put a dagger into this format, in order to try and create a Premier League of its own, with franchises it can sell. I am sick of how short form cricket is run in this country, and then how we are gaslit into believing that everything is just because "the players are tired". We have 50 over specialists in this country we could use in this format, they might not be Jos Buttler's mates or have the proof of mentality from shorter formats, but they know how to bat in this length of competition. Let's use them?

Stop being stupid, all the players I listed are better than most of those playing…Jordan still is a great fielder, death bowler and can bat. Curran best England left armer and fielder in ODI. Bairstow one of England’s best ODI batsman

As an Australian, I often wonder what the feeling is from the English public when they see the mentality that is shown by the Harry Brook quote. To me it seems like the team sometimes forgets that they are representing their country and its public, not just their dressing room bubble. I would be really interested to see some public surveys on the feelings around the lack of responsibility and the "who cares" attitude.

The main issue England have and have had for quite a few years now are world class bowlers since Broad Anderson retired. It is going to take time for the new guys but I'm worried we lack that cutting edge bowlers who can just take wickets or keep it tight.

The thing that I thought was interesting was the lack of spin bowling done by England. Given that many Australian 'part time' bowlers were getting wickets with spin bowling, you would've thought England would've followed suit, but they mostly just used their fast bowlers. Not a great decision by Harry Brook.

Great performance by Travis Head, although can you say a team was outplayed when one guy performs so brilliantly for the opposition, I don't think that's fair to England, at the end of the day you have to doff your cap to Travis who really turned on the batting style here.

England is playing very bad in ODI they don't utilise good player's in ODI..likes of Jason Roy can still be very effective..Joe Root has only played few ODI since 4yrs and scored only 500 runs in last 4yrs in ODI cricket..Zak crawley can be given chance in ODI but hardly gets any chance..Sam Curran is also effective but not playing ODIs...Johnny Baristow is out of ODI team..Ben stokes is retired from ODI..Reece Toply is not utilised properly..They are over dependent on Jos Buttler who is injured now and Jofra Archer. England team still has problem when the ball spins and skids.. example is today's match..they don't have any good spinner except Adil Rashid..No bowlers who get crucial break through in middle overs.. They still don't have a proper spinner in ODI cricket except Adil Rashid now and Moeen Ali who retired. Sorry to say England are playing ODI same way they used to play before 2015 world cup careless and inconsistent.They will perform same way in this ODI series and will give a horrible performance in upcoming Champions Trophy. They should learn from Australia something how to be consistent in ODI cricket over the years. Travis Head is giving Headache to everyone..what a player who has become so consistent and dangerous batter in all formats from past 2yrs amazing. Joe Root should learn from Virat Kholi , Steve Smith & Kane Williamson they play Test Cricket at same time they are playing and performing consistently in ODI cricket from last 4yrs unlike Joe Root who is only playing Tests.
