I remember going out with my dad for a walk, seeing India knocked out of 2007 WC at the age of 12 on a newspaper headline in a shop and shedding a drop of tear. 3. Because you can't just adopt a different style. Especially when you don't have such players!. England knew how to execute the style because they do this lot in football. For playing a particular brand of cricket you need to groom certain players to play such way and then pick the right players and back them. But india just picked it's players who play always like kl and virat but they can't play such style be it rohit, kl, virat. And hence after Asia cup when we couldn't play that way we were left in between not knowing what brand to play. Rohit wanted to attack, rahul couldn't attack and defended. In pressure Rohit loses his wicket, then being too defensive rahul gets out virat has to stabilize and accelerate and take it deep and play the way he knows sky comes in tries to attack as much as he can then goes. Hardik comes stabilizes and tries to attack. Every game since Asia cup this is happening.

The bowling was all over the place as soon as the innings started. Bhuvi bowling either short and wide or on the leg stump even with that much swing was clearly trying to save runs rather than going for the wicket. Openers has to take the responsibility, I am one of the biggest fan of Rohit Sharma but the intent from both the overs was not on during the whole tournament. Last year we lost because of the same mistake and then we adopted a new approach of going all in the powerplay, talks about Rohit Sharma 2.0(new aggressive role) was there, how kl Rahul needs to unleash himself . They did the thing successfully for sometime, but all that progress went down the drain, they went back to their defensive play. And ffs why Chahal , one of THE BEST legspinner on fucking big grounds is not playing is still beyond me. The one thing I observed and agree with you guys - Bringing the wicket keeper up for your ace bowler, you are pretty much telling the batsmen who is batting with shorter square boundaries already, that the bowler will be bowling with a friendly pace and the batsman can slog all they want as there will be only 2 people stopping the boundaries.

Im American and just started following cricket fully in 2019. in that short time, england have been the best team in the world (t20 and odi) and india and new zealand stay choking either in semis or finals. Its unfortunate for india, but not suprsing considering their bowling. They def missed bumrah this tournament. But england man, going 170 for 0 is insane. England play a t20 exactly how it should be played. More Hitters than Anchors. Bowlers who can bat. This enables them to have better matchups. Send lefties whenever required. Send a better player against spin, and vice versa. They bat till 10 or 11. Bowlers are basically worthless in a t20, since all teams have decent ones with enough control. All bowlers on average get hit. Not every team has Rashid, Bumrah, Jofra, Narine. And even they get hit. You just need players that take risk. Would rather hit and get out, than take a single. Ind, Pak, NZ, Aus with that batting lineup, will almost always lose to ENG

Atleast pak has bowlers like Shadab and Nawaz who sometimes bats better than a specialist batsman. Wasim, Shaheen,rauf,Naseem All can hit one or two boundaries.

Bowlers are fast, can bat a bit, but batters can't hit fast bowlers as much as spinners. They still lost against worse teams India, Zim. They won against 1 better side: SA In that both Babar, Rizwan were gone early.

Openers: Ishan Kishan, Prithvi, Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer are available to open - but we are using Rohit & KL. Middle order is as good as any team. We need to bring in all-rounders. There are so many available to be groomed. Bowling has really seen deterioration. Dravid seems to believe that fast bowlers like Umran Malik is not ready, while we put up such a performance.

People will also forget how mediocre the bowling was against Hong Kong in the Asia Cup. Made their batting look pretty good. Coupled with the scratchy batting performances, it's a wonder even in this EASY group. Reaching the semis is actually an achievement for this team.

India lost the match because of both the openers and the bowlers. The openers in this T20 WC always tried to bat safe in the powerplay. And the bowlers today didn't even try to take wickets. Just after few overs, all the Indian bowlers did was try to defend the target and not take wickets. And Buttler and Hales batted to prove everyone who underestimated them and wanted a India vs Pakistan final.
