England's Desert, Astrophotography.

A night time visit to Englands only desert to photograph Orion for the first time this winter. there are so many interesting things to photograph here. Old abandoned fishing boats long forgotten about as well as those still in use.
its a beautiful clear cold night as I set up for a Timelapse and photography session.
Gear used
timelapse Nikon Z50 and 16-50mm f3.5-6.3 vr kit lens.
photographs Nikon Z5 and 20mm f1.8g and also 40mm f2
video Nikon Z5 and 40mm f2 and Sony fdrx3000.

Great video and looks like it was a superb night! I’d love to get down to Dungeness (I assume it was there?) - seems like loads of possibilities and a very atmospheric place. Thanks for sharing! Paul.

Yes Paul it was Dungeness, a great location, but many of the oldest fishing boats and Fishermans huts have been cleared away now unfortunately. It's not as dark there as I expected it to be, but still a very interesting place to visit. thanks for watching and commenting. Clive

There’s really so much to photograph in the night sky apart from the core, I hope to do more of that again soon. Great to go on the desert at night 😂 I often associate deserts with very low light pollution and sand dunes, seems not the case for this one. I like the shot with the tractor, great stuff on the timelapse! Do you plan to get a tracker eventually? I think there might be “frugal” options in the market 😂

Thanks Keith, yep it's not really my idea of a desert either, think it's more by definition than reality. At first I thought you wanted to know if I was getting a tractor. I have thought about getting a tracker. I don't mind spending good money on a tracker, getting the best one at the best price, rather than buying cheap and then having to buy another one. Basically I am lazy and don't like the idea of extra editing hassle. I feel there is a fine line between creating a photograph and an image. I am not sure a star tracker would help, or add much in heavily light polluted skies. Thank you for watching and commenting, it's always appreciated. Hope you have an absolutely epic weekend.
