We know the club teams call the shots but if a team is having problems and feels it's best option is to recall a 17 year old from the U17 world cup for help, then I'd say their problems run too deep for a 17 year old to fix. A 17 year old who so far that season hadn't been deemed good enough to be in the starting 11 for a single game.

I hadn't seen Smith Rowe before then..but the way he played convinced me of his talent wayy quicker than any other youth player I'd seen before So happy for him now that he's in the England first team!!

I was at the stadium... It was such an amazing game. Me and one of my friend was supporting England whereas my other friends were supporting Spain. After Spain scored two goals they were booing us, but I told them, that if England can score one goal before then half time, England would have a great chance of winning but they didn't believe me. But after the end of the match I was right... 😁

Christina, the FA should not interfere. These young players must force their way into the team on merit. They have to outperform the players currently in their positions. I do understand where you are coming from. The question to ask is why are these young lads showing such great improvement. I think it's because they are learning from the best players. I know good coaching comes into it as well. When these young players, like Foden etc, see players like De Bruyne at their club and see him out training and playing, they want to emulate what they see.

@@kingkane1051 After Brexit transfers will carry on as before. They will have to or the standard of players in the Premier league will drop. Football is a massive money spinner for Britain and pays millions in taxes. I don't think the British govt will say anything about where players are coming from. Besides this, we would lose a percentage of our top youth to other big Euro leagues. There are currently several of our best kids scattered across Europe. It's good for them. They get to play alongside more technical, more intelligent, players than they would in a purely British league.
