Many thanks for the upload, waiting all week (no BBC licence). Alas poor Ireland, it looks like the occasion got to them. Magnificent performance by England with the lovely running and passing. I hope someone noticed that the admittedly few box kicks did nothing much other than give away possession. The French will lap that up, as Kildunne did with the Irish kicks. More offloads out of the tackle would be nice to see. Instead of charging until brought down, wouldn't it help to turn the back on the tackler, keeping the arms free to get off the pass like a basketball player?
@anti-Russia-sigma8 ай бұрын
Its better to be side on to the tackler to protect yourself.The only problem then is you maybe facing the wrong side.

At what point do you do that? I think you have to forget about a number of other options if you decide on that. Plus, inevitably, you are slowing up to do it, and giving the opposition that vital extra time to counteract it.

What a load of rubbish giving Ireland a penalty try after denying England earlier - the ball was obviously held up but the officials dredged up some technical reason to award the penalty try and to send Lucy Packer to the sin bin - perhaps they felt sorry for Ireland who fought bravely. Sara Orchard does talk a lot of crap!

Yeah. The french had three yellows before the finale. Then they get yellow upgrade to red. The coaches tried to tell them it's the way the game is going with these cards.

You have to love Sene Naopu's enthusiasm purely as a rugby fan about what was happening on the pitch . She didn't go down the easy path of dismissing the skill levels of the England players because Ireland are technically an amateur team. Why is it that England are penalised for England Rugby and the RFU for investing in the Women's game on all levels, instead of following the pattern of every other Country investing mainly in men's and boys rugby causing the women's and girls rugby in those countries to stagnate and potentially on the global scene for some countries to actually go backwards with regard to women's and girls rugby.
@Olafjabberwocky9 ай бұрын
she was class as a player but its noticeable the worst bits of the commentary was from the the ones with no experience. I wonder if the likes of Poppy cleall will get a chance to play again with this side? We have a wealth of riches at the moment.
@robinaldred3129 ай бұрын
@Olafjabberwocky I think think the worst thing was Gabby Logan putting Claudia McDonald on the spot about her fiancee playing for Ireland. Not only was that unnecessary, but it was extremely unprofessional to bring up something that clearly has nothing to do about the game being played. The look on the face of Sene when she made the comments about Claudia's relationship should have told Gabby to shut her mouth and only focus on the rugby.
@robinholland11366 ай бұрын
@@robinaldred312 I would add to that the patronising questioning of the Ireland forward coach. I've watched the match more than once and have had to mute it. She did something similar when she 'interviewed' John Mitchell after Lucy Packer's yellow, sounding like a mum giving her wayward son a ticking off. Unnecessary. Packer took one for the team, which is not uncommon in the game.

What a wonderful performance, artistry and skill. I am a huge fan and actually really looking forward to watching so much more. This is how rugby should be played. I am so fed up of the over muscled and under skilled men's game. I was involved with rugby at a college in the mid to late 90's and there was a group of young ladies wishing to play, I helped form a team and they actually played a couple of games. I was always worried literally sick if any of the players got hurt. Please understand some of the male prejudices in the women's game are born of protectionism not ridicule - that was just how I felt as a man. Watching this game has eased my conscience around some of the injuries I saw the girls receive which I still feel today. My player of the match was Scarratt - she was sublime. Kildunne was magnificent.
