Christian Pulisic doesn’t like the pressure of being the captain and he’s often been criticized for playing “hero ball.” Tyler Adams is a very mature and super consistent player, so he was always going to be captain. Most Americans wouldn’t have even included Aaron Long on the roster, let alone start him. He’s like Maguire, but with none of the positives. Yunus Musah is an on/off player, and he wasn’t himself against Wales, but when he is on, he adds an element of quick-fire creativity and fast dribbling in transition. US’ biggest weakness is the way they execute positional play, and the fact that our fullbacks aren’t very effective at defending

If I was American I would be worried about their tackling. There were a number against Wales were there possible red cards and they got away with yellows. A least lenient referee and they could have been down to ten maybe even 9

This is without a doubt the best England squad we’ve had for decades. The Lampard, Beckham, Gerrard, Rooney era just didn’t gel as they should have and couldn’t play alongside each other. As individuals they were amazing but as a team they dropped the ball. This current squad are great as individuals AND they connect exactly as we need. This is the best opportunity we’ve had to win a tournament for many years and America in their usual fashion are hyping themselves up to be better than they are and assuming they can walk the group. I think they have a very warped view of how difficult international football is

USA looked really solid against Wales and I honestly think the big problem in the second half wasn’t exactly Wales outplaying them or doing crazy things, but they looked so tired by the end of it. To be fair, Wales players were going down tired as well, but still just looked like a fitter side and if USA had matched fitness levels, they’d probably win that game.

Interesting fact about Antonee Robinson, when he was at Wigan before he moved to Fulham, he almost got a move to AC Milan. Everything was agreed but unfortunately he failed the medical after they found a previously unknown heart condition. Despite that disappointment, Antonee was very professional and still gave his all for us as him and the doc worked on getting his condition sorted. The irony is that the money we would have received for him from AC Milan would’ve at least delayed us going into administration, potentially helping us avoid it altogether. I’m glad he stayed though, and I’m very pleased to see him doing well at Fulham. He’s well liked in Wigan, for good reason. Just hopefully he has a bad game on Friday

Yanks midfield are quite good. Skilled in both winning the ball back and progressing it forward. Two key skills coupled with pace. I do think they gas out in the second half due to lack of bench options. I wouldn't be shocked with a 2-2 draw. Of course our media will claim Southgate failure. But talksport was right...they play good football and are the second youngest side at wc. Very very bright future for that emerging football market.

Tomori would have been perfect for this game. USA have a lot of pace in their team and Tomori is our only defender who would be able to keep up with them. Even if he doesn’t play in the big games, it’s games like this he’d be so useful because it’s what England lack. That could be what costs us this tournament, having a weak defence with no pace in it.

I like team USA's chances in the early rounds (group play, round of sixteen) of this tournament. USA may have to play France if both teams get to the round of eight and France is a juggernaut team, so it does not look like the USA is suppose to get to the final four. If the USA wins the round of eight and makes it into the round of four, that would likely be a number seven over number two upset.

I was really impressed with how quick USA were against Wales. They looked very fast and athletic, more so than England... for the first half an hour of the game. After that, they slowed down and looked fatigued. England were more consistent with their speed and athleticism. USA may have started their match faster, but England finished faster. Based on that, I'm predicting that USA go 1-0 up around the 20 minute mark, England equalise just before half time and the game finishes 2-1 to England. You read it here first folks, get your bets down and thank me later
