Win, lose, or draw, what’s so great to see about this England performance is just how much passion and pride has been restored to the players wearing the shirt. I hope this is the start of something for the team because it’s been a hard few years being an England rugby supporter. Hard luck, Ireland, who are still the best team in the world on their day for my money - but yesterday was not that day. Yesterday was England’s day and it was glorious!

Great performance! Have a look at Feyi-Waboso's line from 2:40 on the right wing - gets caught a bit in no man's land, tries to blitz in late, turns and tracks back to cover, catches up, and then marmalises Henshaw(?) at 2:46 . Maybe his positioning was not perfect in this set, but his tenacity and positive attitude throughout the match was excellent.

England exciting victory over Ireland was crucial for England who needed to bounce back from loss to Scotland. 99% of pundits and fans expected Ireland to dominate the game. It's games like this that differentiate rugby fans who respect both teams abilities, from other sports. In defying the odds they produced a performance that lasted 80 minutes of intensity, determination & skill. Itoje is giving away less obvious penalties. They transitioned well from defence to attack, playing heads up rugby and keeping the ball in hand, seeking out space. They defended the lineup, where they stole six of Ireland's throws, thanks to Borthwick's knowledge. Ireland failed to react with their usual attacking composure and accuracy, they gave away penalties and a yellow card. Poster boi Marcus Smith's 79th minute opportunistic drop goal, gave England a one-point lead & victory. He had a penalty advantage and took his chance, however he needs to add stillness and calm to his skillset.

Great game, well done England, respect from Wales. Just shows how hard it is to win a 6N Grandslam. It's been agonising watching our U25 National team come so close to beating Scotland and England, but we'll be back soon. Here's the current 6N record for this century, as it stands. Wales 6 Championships (4 Grandslams) France 6 Championships (4 Grandslams) Ireland 6 Championships (3 Grandslams) England 6 Championships (2 Grandslams) Scotland 0 Italy 0 I understand why us Welsh are so disliked, but we just can't help being a chopsy bunch of gobshites when our tiny, poor, disorganised Nation shows such fighting spirit.

I was praising Englands win as the better team on the day, however having seen the Genge 'no arms' on Furlong I have altered my opinion, for that not to be checked by the TMO is ridiculous. I really didn't want this game to be about red or yellow cards, but the POM yellow was called as 'cynical' and likely swung things in Englands favour, the Genge assault should at least be highlighted to the ref.

Congratulations England from Canada. Ireland, arguably the best side in the world, appeared to be having a cakewalk of things until England jammed a wrench into their spokes, and now must find a result against the best Scottish side seen in decades just to ensure they retain their championship now that the Grand Slam and Triple Crown are but just a pipedream. This 6 Nations campaign has been thrilling to experience so far as parity is threatening this competition. If the ball bounces differently once or twice for Wales against Scotland and your boys they could be standing mid-table instead of playing for the wooden spoon. Italy should have taken a historic win against France, plus they put up a dogfight against England too and have levied a quite respectable campaign thus far. What if France shocks the world and has two huge results today and next week and Ireland doesn't recover from today's stunner in their finale against Scotland? What a spectacle this has been so far.

Honestly, I prefer Furbank’s ability to keep defences honest ball-in-hand to Freddie’s solidity under the high ball. Great to have both options because, in the wet, you’d play Freddie for sure. With good conditions for running rugby, however, Furbank’s the man. England suddenly looking like there’s some depth developing and that bodes well for the future.
