@@englandshistory Hi mate, I'd forgotten I had set this up last year but didn't end up getting out with it, recently I've discovered a lot of ancient history of the area, the illyrians were incredible, they built fortresses all with interlocking lines of sight of the next along the valley, they were usually on spurs sticking out from the bottom or the hillside, just massive piles of rocks left now, myself and a friend who is in Switzerland these days, have been researching online and discovered the Great illyrian Revolt, basically 800,000 illyrians rose up against the Romans, the Romans sent 15 Legions that took 4 years to stop it, they say if the illyrians had joined all their various tribes they would be as powerful as if not more powerful than the Rom an and Greek empires, they copied the armour, weapons and tactics of Greek Hoplites and Roman Legionnairies! so I got back from work earlier, searched in youtube for Ancient Equinox settings and saw your video, as I was going through the setup, I realised mine was set up exactly the same, then Doh! I discovered I had set it up from your very same video :) I have been out for about an hour searching a friend of mines' potato field a few hundred metres below one of the illyrian fortress locations, love the settings as literally the only thing I found was a tiny bronze coin, not sure yet if it is Roman or illyrian but it confirmed the setting is excellent! Hi matey, Without all metal there is a sharp cutoff between targets which give a good signal and those that don’t. This means that you will simply not hear deep targets that are beyond the limit of the noise ID even if the Nox can pick them up. I reckon that there are about two inches extra depth to be gained on coins by using all metal and interpreting what you are hearing rather than relying on the machine to tell you that it is good. Can you give this a test and see what you think 👍

@EnglandsHistory Sid can you give a brief explanation of changing recovery/bias to suit conditions please
@englandshistory3 жыл бұрын
For normal detecting on un contaminated land ie very little iron or signs of dense occupation you can use a fairly slow recovery speed of say 3-5 but if on contaminated land i would say use recovery of say 6 to help get in amongst the iron… also when on highly productive land when there is a higher chance of small sort after finds in amongst the iron a lower iron bias will help you get the small targets very close to larger iron targets but when using a lower iron bias you will be more susceptible to being tricked into digging more iron as you are running the machine open with minimal discrimination

Hello mate. I have now tried your program on my Nox 800. I thought it was noisy, as if there were signals all over the place? Good signals also came through sometimes. I had Deus before I switched to Minelab. And it only gave signal if something lay in the ground. Can I have made a mistake while programming? Best wishes Christian from Denmark
@englandshistory5 жыл бұрын
Christian Albertsen sounds like you have mate.... mine runs sweet as a nut.... what you running sensitivity at?? If to high you may experience false signals... have to adjust to each field, also check your ground balance... start gb at zero and if still falsing perform a manual gb 👍🏼👍🏼

I've just bought one sid, wondering have i got to go through it every time i turn the machine on, or set it up then when out just do the noise cancelling and ground balance, thanks KIT-KAT kev

The nox saves every change automatically, so when you turn on again it will be as you used it last…

Hi sid question when doing the recovery speed FE 1 but I pressed the tick it brought up FE ?? You never mentioned that in the video what should that be set at ???
@englandshistory4 жыл бұрын
stephen neale fe2 is from a recent update... its designed to eliminate crown tops (bottle caps) so has more discrim... not best to use for detecting on land where your after the tricky targets ie small roman / medieval coinage... stick with fe and set to 1 as shown in the video... unless your searching park/beaches where there is a abundance of bottle caps

Does single frequency help when in a high iron area? If so, what frequency would be the best?
@englandshistory3 жыл бұрын
Lewis multi works really well anyways just use 6 recovery speed or higher... but if you wanted to use single freq I would use 20/40 khz 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@lewis5233 жыл бұрын
@@englandshistory I was out yesterday in a really high iron infested field, was so noisy. Got told to change to single frequency 15khz and above and it quietened it down a lot. But then made me think was I missing good targets😂 Thanks for the advice! 👍🏼👍🏼

Yo Why is field 1 so shallow compared to field 2 Sid ?
@englandshistory4 жыл бұрын
Nick it depends on the conductivity of the target... field 1 better on coinage and field 2 better on the small bits
