Well said! I have been searching YT for a week to see all comparisons before I purchased this unit. I don't have the funds to spend big $ and can only get one. I tried the AT max (sucked) tried the G2+ (also sucked) lost $ selling both. I do not want to do that again. Every test I have seen so far on the Simplex is outstanding against far more expensive machines. If people want to dis it make a video! I saw one video where they did everything they could to make their favorite unit out preform and failed. Admitting it, then saying they still would not have a Simplex. Oh well..

For a £300 machine its excellent, and it was turn on set up and go, never had to alter any settings unlike both the Deus and the Nox which Sid spent most time with. Plus you can also alter the frequency on the simplex which blows that argument about doing that with Deus. I use a Nox and I am impressed with the Simplex. I don't marry a machine and try to justify what I have spent I don't care what price it is as long as its good in Iron, sensitive and Deep. The Simplex looks like it does all them plus its waterproof.

I compared my multi cruiser equinox and Deus , was amazed at the depth of the cruiser until I Remove the target from the hole and with the cruiser I still had a strong signal only to discover when you set them up for maximum depth , they will read the hole with no target after it is filled in . To avoid this you need to make sure you run a positive ground balance and don't overdo it on the sensitivity setting . all 3 are good machines but if I could only have one the Deus would work best for me , not because it's any better , but is far more user-friendly when you are old and weak ..

Got my Simplex today, great test lads but most of the signals you got with the Simplex were signals you would never dig anyway, knock the iron grunt off and go over the targets again, they will disappear, the Simplex makes similar sounds everywhere, spent a couple of hours on my test bed today, The Simplex is very good for £295.00 ,but that’s what it is a £295.00 detector, do you think Nokta would bring a detector out that was better than all their more expensive models for a fraction of the price, they would put themselves out of business! and where would they go next? The Equinox and Deus are far superior detectors , has you would expect, the Deus on the test just does what it always does on deep targets and gives you a high reading, meaning the discrim is dire under 8” and you could be digging anything, the Equinox would have easily have most of the targets if used on Field 2 or Park 2, the Simplex when run over my iron tests was not great, it got about 6 out of 10 the Deus and Equinox gets all of the targets , the Simplex when pushed just gives false signals everywhere, you can’t tell one from another but I suppose that would come with practice, it’s difficult on a test bed you know what the targets are and where they are, most of the signals in the test you would never dig. So before you all go out and buy a new Simplex then remember this is just a very good £295.00 detector similar to a Garrett 400i / Fisher F44 e.t.c , I don’t think Nokta ever claimed it was going to be anything else, excellent value for money. I was going to go out with it this Sunday, I nearly got caught out in all the hype, but I won’t bother. Happy Hunting

I have a couple of nagging questions. If the Simplex is selling for around $300.00 then the cost of manufacturing must be $100.00 - $150.00? So, where are they skimping to keep the price so low? Is it in the build or the electronics? They have to be cutting corners in the manufacturing process somewhere, in my opinion. Also, can the company survive selling metal detectors for $300.00 each? I have my doubts on that one. Seems like a bad business plan to me to bring out a detector that will compete with your higher end detectors at less than half the price.

Why is everything always about depth? Recovery speed is god in metal detecting, target separation on ancient sites, the Deus would piss over most machines on contaminated mineralised sites, you don’t need depth. After over 30 years one thing l know is depth isn’t everything. Why this obsession with it is beyond me, see the Norfolk wolfs recovery speed test videos.

Its all about how a dig-gable signal is defined on the test the Deus makes a noise whilst going over a target, this is 'not a signal we would dig we are told, i would not dig it either, but it could be something (and in this case was) all the detector is telling us is that there is a piece of metal down there but the detector is unsure what it is, so it gives a mixed signal, deus owners just go back and dig some of the signals you have rejected you will be surprised what you are leaving in the ground, all detectors do this, that is what is happening in the video test the Simplex is telling you there is a piece of metal down there but it does not know whether it is ferrous or non ferrous, it is not a clear signal you are hearing but a non descriptive grunt, this you will get every 2 yards as you detect.

The video is a bit old but I think the subject continues, and will continue to be strong. The Deus played with many disadvantages, such as the lack of its 34x28 cm coil. Also you do not "cancel" the effect of the ground with the option "expert" in ground balance. Not to mention that the correct program with its proper settings was missing. Even so! is an excellent video worth sharing, for further discussion.

Good review sid mate. Funny how some people are commenting are like " didn't do this, didn't do that, adjust that, time will tell" muppets . There are times and conditions when one will perform better than the other ( bar the Deus as I think they are crap and have owned it many times " fact is in the day of this test the simplex came out on top despite you knowing the Equinox and not knowing the simplex. People need to stop crying because they made a cheap machine that works

Matt Ballard yeah tests can vary from test to test but its just the way the test went on day.... simplex is a bloody awesome machine and will make a lot of people very happy 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 best bang for the money by far

I detected 5 months with the Makro Anfibio. My opinion is that it did find some deeper targets in wet ground. But missed an awful lot of the smaller stuff. I sold the machine when I realized this. Bought the Nox 800 and was absolutely inpressed finally finding the good stuff again that I missed with the Anfibio. For me no Simplex or Anfibio ever again. Fair enough more bucks more machine...of course no offense to beginners the Simplex can satisfy to start the wonderful hobby

Very nice depth but let's put some trash in the hole and see witch one will separate the best ??

I have an equinox and a simplex for that matter i have an xp orx and i can tell u without a doubt the simplex flat out cannot touch any of those 3 machines out in the field, it really isnt even close..the simplex is a great little machine for the money, but in my soil in indiana the simplex will simply stay in the closet except when i may need a spare machine for a friend or something like that.

@@englandshistory Cool. also the equinox is a multi frequency machine . So Try setting the machines frequency to see if it goes deeper on curtain targets rather having it set to multi frequency all the time. I Think that it might loose a bit of depths forcing on unnecessary frequencies on curtain targets.

Simplex clearly won that one

Not that depth means much in 99% of the places most folks hunt but 2 things I noticed in your nox settings that will increase depth (especially in low mineralized soils) Hunt in all metal. No notch. If there is little to no iron, reduce the iron bias setting. I also lower iron bias in heavy iron patches but jack up the target separation to 7. To me, target separation is king... would LOVE to see these 3 machines tested in heavy iron with small non ferrous targets. The Nox, set up correctly, will find tiny non ferrous targets in TONS of iron. Especially with the small coil, and will still have decent depth.

Hello. May I ask for your opinion. I have a Makro racer 2 at the moment. I am thinking to sell it and get a Simplex. In Simplex I like that it's waterproof, rechargeable and has software updates. What mashine is better and more serious? Is it worth changing racer 2 to simplex? Will I not regret it later on? What are your thoughts? Thanks
@englandshistory5 жыл бұрын
Dalijus Karvovskis ive only used the racer 2 briefly... it seems a ok machine but cant really compare the two..... the simplex is a very good affordable machine and i think you will like it over the racer

Hi. May I ask a question about the Simplex. When you found an item in the ground and use a pinpoint function does it show the distance to the target, the depth in cm or inches? Thanks
@englandshistory5 жыл бұрын
@@dalijusk You get a bullseye image on pinpoint the closer the target is to the coil you get a small bullseye(louder audio) if further away you get more rings larger bullseye(quieter audio)... its very effective
@dalijusk5 жыл бұрын
May they include the distance in inches and centimetres later on in the update? What do you think? Thanks

But that Simplex......damn, it's good value for money. I'm definitely getting one in the new year.....if they haven't ran out of them by then 😔
