Opened up to the world once more England drank in influences and ideas from abroad which were to infuse English building with widely held ideas and values.
Simon Thurley, Chief Executive of English Heritage, delivers this lecture on English building between 1650 to 1760 in his capacity as Visiting Professor of the Built Environment at Gresham College.

Very useful. Liked the way key points were put across. Often in academia there is too much detail and too little context, which makes for some very dull listening. Great amount of context to the detail. Shows a through understanding of the issues being discussed which allows a huge amount of knowledge to be tranferred quickly. Thank you.

Yeah the Brits took their influence from the French, but English interpretations of the ideas from abroad are beautiful.
