THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN huge thank you to Phoebe, Sarah and Angela - all 3 of you KILLED IT on this one. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. WHY DID I NOT TRANSLATE THE HOOK?????: 2 reasons - Firstly, it's insanely catchy and I felt the song was stronger by keeping it in. Secondly, that line is full of Japanese wordplay that honestly just doesn't localise well into english (which is why I'm certain the localization team chose to go with "My Deer Friend Nokotan" as the title for the show). This is my first time hearing this song in English and there are some unhinged lines in this song that I had no idea about!!! “It’s shining, it’s shining ever so brightly now. Just have to say mad respect for the translator, i love what they did to the lyrics, my favorite one is the one that says "Are you a fated trial that i have been bestowed my deer" in 1:19 , the direct translation would be something along the lines of "Are you perhaps my fated one, my deer" but your improvisation is just so lovely, it keeps the original meaning and also makes it fun to sing too, keep up the good work.
