This series aims to show a typical day of freight workings, from sunrise till sunset, at popular UK train spotting locations around the network.
Episode 4: Chesterfield
Situated on the Midland Mainline between Sheffield and Derby, Chesterfield is host to a large variety or freight, from stone traffic from the Hope Valley, to the now rarified power station traffic and loco moves from Network Rails Derby Technical Centre.

the deltic engines was really built for aircraft/tanks/submarines so they're temperamental in locomotives for some reason!!!

Nice video Luke. Will never understand why Deltics nearly always seem to go wrong. They're not happy at low speeds because the oil spills out the exhaust (hence the enormous black stain down the side of its body), and if they go too fast, they seem to develop electrical issues.

Nice to see a goyle out & about on the mainline i love class 31's I think the 120 made were skinheads and didn't have the central head code box's! Nice catch 🥰

I think it’s the last mainline active one if I remember right, very good to see. Skinheads is a blast from the past, saw one at the East Lancs a year or two ago, looked great in the old dark green with a grey roof 👍🏻
