If you ever get time, look up a Medal of Honor winner named Audie Murphy. He got to play himself in the Hollywood movie they made about him. He had to tell the director to tone down the actions he made in the film because, and I'm quoting here, "no one would believe it". He took out 3 2-man German machine gun nests, by himself, because they killed a friend of his. He went full-on Rambo, picking up an MG-42, a 2-person heavy machine gun, and shooting the other German gunners down with it. And that's just one of the crazy badass things he did in the war.

@ArtyFire1184 жыл бұрын
Men like John Chapman and Kyle Carpenter are why I joined the Army in 2015. John Chapman was without a doubt one of the bravest warriors in the U.S. Military. Seeing and hearing what he did to protect his guys on the mountain is truly tear jerking. There is one thing that pissed off a lot of us in the military though. Originally Chapman was awarded the Air Force Cross for his actions, but in 2016 the Air Force Secretary pushed to have it upgraded to the Medal of Honor. Naval Special Warfare Command (the Navy SEALs) tried to block all efforts for Chapman to be posthumously awarded the MOH, because then they would have to admit the SEALs on the Mountain left Chapman behind. It took 16 years for him to finally be awarded the MOH because the SEALs didn't want people to know they left a fallen comrade behind. Thanks for the reaction brother.

My brother is a retired US Army Green Beret and it does take a special person to do this kind of job and I am very proud of him and all he did for his Country. I don't know any of his exact missions of course. I used to get phone calls and they started like this...Hey, where've you been? I can't tell you. What have you been doing? I can't tell you. Where are you going? I can't tell you. So, why'd you call. Then we'd both laugh. We knew that every mission he went on that, he and his team would carry out their assignments. We had to BELIEVE that they were given the correct information for each and every mission and we prayed. I still pray for the all men in the Special Forces and their families it's a rough road that they travel. It's a road that has deep ruts from all of us who have traveled it. We also, knew that, we could have been the family of John Chapman, he came home but he never walked through the front door. I believe that Warriors watch over their families and teammates and wait for the day when they will all be reunited again.

Look up the story of Dakota Meyer earning the medal of honor in Afghanistan. I dont know of any short videos but he was on a 3 hour podcast with Jocko talking about the ordeal and it's WILD!!! A base was being attacked and he was up a hill with some other military people and the base was so overwhelmed they wouldn't allow anyone to go in for reinforcements because they would just die. Dakota, against direct orders, found a driver for a truck with a mounted 50 and he got on the 50 cal out the top. They head down towards the base and are overwhelmed with combatants and since the mounted weapon doesn't point far enough down to protect the humvee, numerous people had climbed onto the truck so he would routinely unload with the 50 cal and occasionally have to grab his rifle so he could shoot people that were hanging onto the truck and actually had to shoot people that had gotten inside the truck! His driver even had to run over 2 people! It's a wild story that sounds like a video game it's amazing!

The Navy did Chapman so dirty for years after his death. They blocked him from receiving the Medal of Honor for years because they didn’t want people to know that the seals abandoned him on the summit. He obviously eventually got it but it’s so disgraceful that the Navy would put the image of that seal team over recognizing Chapman for his bravery. He died for his team and for the Navy and they didn’t even have the decency to honor him for it.
