English Folk Song - The Derby Ram

The Derby Ram is a comical English folk song dating before the 18th century featuring a man telling his friends of a recent trip to Derby where he saw an enormous tup. Besides being comical, the exaggeration of the song has been linked to the veneration of livestock by farmers whose lives revolved around them. Many counties in the Midlands have traditions involving wearing a ram's fleece while going from door to door singing the Derby Ram song.

For anyone confused by the bit about baseball being included for some reason: the Baseball Ground used to be the stadium where Derby County played what I am legally obligated to call football. They moved to a new ground in 1997, where they continued their proud tradition of football, once even ascending to the Premier League! Okay, they then proceeded to rack up the lowest points total in the history of the Premier League, as well as amassing precisely one win in thirty-eight games, but they got there.
