Why did you translate the text to him? He doesn't speak Portuguese.
@professor_doutor_Carlos6 жыл бұрын
It's simple! Because there are many Portuguese speakers who still can not read English. Why not take my message to them too? É simples! Porque há muitos falantes de português que ainda não conseguem ler em inglês. Por que não levar minha mensagem para eles também?

Thanks James for your lessons. But I think the topic wasn't covered good enough. What about such cases as: 'cause (a short form of because) and apostrophe as a marker of palatalized letters, met in transliteration of proper names in different languages (in Ukrainian, for example, it is Ternopil')
@stanislavfoltan6 жыл бұрын
this is interesting lesson for me. i must say that even our poor english teachers in the school (slovakia) spend less time with explaining this topic than you did in this video, and it is not difficult for us to understand it (and use it, at least in spoken form when i do not need to search for apostrophe on the keyboard). maybe bcz of the nature when comes to the simplification of things? and please believe me, i do not mean this as a criticism! i am just surprised that along the tons of other things causing troubles for us, this one is pretty clear :)
