English idioms - Under the weather
Improve your English with English idioms.
What is an idiom? An idiom is a set phrase, widely used, it should be understood as one whole, it has a particular meaning that you can hardly deduce from the meanings of the individual words. English is full of idiomatic expressions, but all languages have a wide range of idioms. In this video, I would like to teach one idiomatic expression: under the weather. If I say, I’m feeling under the weather today, what does it mean? When I'm under the weather, or I’m feeling under the weather, I don’t feel well. I’m slightly ill. I’m coughing. When you are under the weather, your condition is not serious. You do not need to be in a hospital or see a doctor. Watch the video for more examples and a deeper understanding.
