Bhakti (Sanskrit: भक्ति) literally means "attachment, participation, fondness for, homage, faith, love, devotion, worship, purity".[1] In Hinduism, it refers to devotion to, and love for, a personal god or a representational god by a devotee.[2][3] In ancient texts such as the Shvetashvatara Upanishad, the term simply means participation, devotion and love for any endeavor, while in the Bhagavad Gita, it connotes one of the possible paths of spirituality and towards moksha, as in bhakti marga

Dear Sri Sridhar I was following your lecture on bhakthi 4.0 addressed at sasthra university .It was knowledge oriented ,divine in approach, interpretations with examples matched with the sasthram sayings and above all ,the various parts of gnanathvam and others. Only thing ,I could not understand is how a member of the audiences asked ,why we have to accept there is God . You replied in lighter vein . I believe there is God ,because do we know at which moment we will be blessed to be born ,what will happen during our life span and at which moment we will leave this world ? I am of the opinion that God ,nature and the conscience are same . They exist for ever but we are not . Kindly reply with your comments Thank you Looking for more lectures. M R Subramanian 9840865763
