Did you means, though Tennyson has praised Horatian ode but criticized it's 'Epicurian way of life '? Because Horace himself was the suppoter of 'Epicurian way of life '

My question is, he got this Epicurian style from where/from whose writing, which he has criticised? Has he found this from Horace's writings? As Horatian ode itself celebrates wine , woman, food and all sorts of merriment of life =which is basicaly similar to Epicurian way of living.

It was John Dryden who was called father of English criticism by Doctor Johnson , that's what I have heard so far but you are telling exactly opposite and now I'm getting confused about it ..

Watch it again.... Aristotle called father of Criticism by Dryden.... Dryden was called father of English criticism by Samuel Johnson. .
