Late comment here, but God, knowing the translation makes the song both heartwarming and sad. One could argue that the song is sang from the perspective of both Noire and MC/Secretary-san. Lines like: "You're strong as a mountain, you're a crybaby, and I love every part of you" seem to apply to both characters; Secretary-san is more intelligent than one would assume, and yet he's the regular "anime boy protagonist" (kind of dense and idiotic, but also kindhearted), while Noire is the most responsible of the Goddesses, and yet she's also the most emotional of them. You could say that both Noire and Secretary-san like eachother, flaws and all. And then, there's the "Don't listen to them. I'm right here by your side and I'll never leave" line, which seems to be a response to the previous "I play pretend throught my whole life and act like I'm ok. These bad feelings dirty the sky above me. Can't I beat back depression with happiness?" lines. It's clear from these words that Noire struggles with self-love and depression, and that she puts up a facade of being a no non-sense, dutiful goddess so that people don't see how she really feels. And yet, "Don't listen to them. I'm right here by your side and I'll never leave", shows us that Secretary-san loves Noire just the way she is, and that she'll never be alone. The same could be say about Uni and the other goddesses; despite claiming that they're not Noire's friends, they really care for her. I'm sorry for rambling, it's just that the translation of this song really did made a number on my heart. And as a Noire fan, I felt touched by it. Thank you so much for translating it. 🖤

This song feels like a conversation between Noire and her secretary, especially with the whole "you are strong as a mountain, you're a crybaby, and i love every part of you." There are so many portions of this that dont feel like they are directed at one person almost like the song is telling the story of 2 individuals coming together and vowing never to part

I Agree with you on this song meant for Noire and the Secretary. my biggest problem with the game is the story and the secretary everything else is good it just i really wish that the Secretary was more involve with the game story and have him as a real character have him develop throughout the story if he's supposed to representing the Player then i don't see it.

@@dannyarisu3858 yeah despite Idea Factory being a company that makes visual novels it felt like they wanted to make a visual novel protag but didnt want to make secretary the protag since its a neptunia game, the same issue happened with the producer in Producing Perfection I think the secretary is a lot better in the heart to hearts with the party members getting to show off his resourcefulness and personal skills, as a secretary its his job to watch over and assist people so he's highly intuned with picking up on subtle cues or changes in personal inflection and mood so he can tell when the girls are hiding something or feelimg down and tries to cheer them, Ryuka and Generia remarking how nosy he can be but like that about him, Saori and Ai are very straight forward forcing Noire to act and keep them from trying to take him away, Lid and Lee-Fi being rather sensitive and Sango, Vio and Lady Wac make it very obvious they wish secretary worked under them instead, Tsunemi and Blossom seem neutral with secretary and Little Rain seems neutral with everyone

Sounds like this song is intended to be Sung by Noire while she's in HDD from how the Voice pitch is She usually has a different pitch as heard in Aquamarine which is Sung as if Noire is singing while not in HDD

Absolutely lovely! It's great to have translations of these songs, even years after the games came out. Great work! Any plans on doing Venus no Harmonia and Aquamarine? (On that note, AnonymousNeko's channel also has "Campanella", sung by Asami Imai, which is listed on the video's description as being part of Venus no Harmonia's album, even though it's bloody impossible to find information on this; I'm not even sure if it's technically a Neptunia song, but it's such a charming song I can't help but ask about translating it either way)
