Clear advantage over the more conventional, cylindrical sausage is that you can place other items such as eggs or hashbrowns on top of it with more ease. Also less chance of it rolling away.

Im half Scottish but from London and the first time I had a Scottish fried breakfast up in Glasgow with my relatives I thought it was better then a full English, but it was all home made by my great aunt not from a cafe.
