I have to say that it is good to know at the beginning that there are "Unfortunately there aren't many consistent rules in English to help". 8-) I didn't and tried to learn the rules instead of practising much more. Thanks for highlighting the point in the description. The problem comes when you have no regular language practice.

Hello Teacher James! Your English teaching is excellent and exceptional. I would like to have your explanation on " each of you teach me how to reach the beach." Why is the verb "teach" in plural not in singular form? I learned that "each" usually takes a singular verb, except after plural subject. Ex: Each of them has his own room. They each have their own rooms. Thank you so much Teacher James.

Hello James : in the words ear, near, fear, dear, gear, are the letters E-A which are pronounced /iə/ or the letters E-A-R ?
@EasyENGLISHwithJames2 жыл бұрын
Hi Catherine! Thanks for your comment. In words like fear and near we can assume it is the EA that takes the sound ɪə, because this sound is also found in words like area (ˈeərɪə). Please note that words like “ear” “near” and “fear” only usually sound like this in British English, whereas in American English near (nɪr) or fear (fɪr) take that r sound.
