Mam, thanks for your simple, clear and easy to understand teaching.Love your very sweet voice.Your teaching is awesome. But please clear one doubt - while taking the example of Compound sentence : "Lucia........,but she knows it's...' you have taken (1simple + 1 complex) Can we say it's Compound.I am from India, hope you know my confusion, please reply very soon. Thanks mam.

You have a great eye for detail! This is a wonderful question. That sentence is technically a compound-complex sentence because "she knows it's bad for her teeth" is a complex sentence. It is still an independent clause, though. In this video, I wanted to focus on the 3 major sentence types to make certain students understood these basic concepts before I got into compound-complex sentences (which many of my students have found harder to identify). Thank you for watching so closely and for learning with us 😃.

Thanks for the video but please tell me what type of sentence is this? Either the engine start, or we will remain here all night.

There is a grammar error in the first part of that sentence - but it looks like a compound sentence to me. You have 2 independent clauses joined by a comma and a FANBOYS.
