What should we do when we can't understand the whole sentence . Not the singular word. Like, rage, angts, resilience, It is a haunting blend of rage and resilience, angts and dissent.. If we can't understand the whole sentence what should we do

Thanks for your great question. I guess the sentence comes from The Hindu's article about Meena Kandasamy. The writing is high-level. Of course, the easiest way is to translate it into your language, but that's not so helpful. The next approach is to simplify the sentence. It's a good chance to have a conversation in English with ChatGPT to understand the meaning. This is my conversation: ___________________________ Me: Simplify this sentence "It is a haunting blend of rage and resilience, angst and dissent." ChatGPT: "It's a mix of strong emotions like anger, determination, worry, and disagreement." Me: Can you make it even easier? ChatGPT: "It's a mix of strong feelings like anger, determination, worry, and disagreement." Me: What is determination? ChatGPT: Determination is a strong feeling of wanting to achieve something and being willing to work hard to make it happen. It's about having a firm resolve or commitment to reach a goal despite challenges or obstacles. For example: His determination to succeed drove him to study late into the night. Despite facing setbacks, her determination to finish the marathon never wavered. The team's determination to win the championship propelled them to train tirelessly. Me: Please explain it as simply as possible. ChatGPT: Determination means really wanting to do something and not giving up, even when it's tough. It's like saying, "I won't quit until I reach my goal!" Me: Why does the sentence use "a haunting blend of" instead of "a mix of"? ChatGPT: [long and difficult answer] Me: That's too difficult for me. Please make it easy to understand. ChatGPT: Sure! "Haunting blend" is like saying the mix of emotions really sticks with you, almost like a ghost that won't leave your mind. It's a way to make the feelings sound more intense and memorable. ___________________________ This kind of conversation can really help develop your English and understanding of the language. sir i watched this video and practice and i watched many videos like that but i face one problem ,I forget the dialogue, how to fixed this problem, what is the right way how to memories the dialogue and we couldn't forget it.

I understand you'd like to memorise everything, but it's OK to forget. Forgetting is part of learning. Trying to remember the whole dialogue is hard, and I don't think you need to do that. Of course, memorising some sentences is a good idea, so let me give you some suggestions. 1. I recommend writing the sentences you want to memorise on cards (or typing them into your smartphone). Copying helps you to remember, especially if you use a pen. 2. If you make cards (or use a notebook), write a trigger word on one side and the sentence on the other side. For example: One side: Traffic Other side: The traffic is a nightmare. This will strengthen your grammar. 3. Change the sentences to talk about your life. This makes them easier to remember. For example, if the traffic is OK in your area, change "The traffic is a nightmare." You can make one sentence about "traffic" and one sentence using "nightmare": - The traffic is light. - The weather in summer is a nightmare. This will help your English become more flexible. 4. Make sure you say the sentences aloud or, at least, whisper them. It's important to move your mouth. It's also a good idea to record yourself on your smartphone. Even if you don't listen to the recording, it will help you to improve. I hope that gives you some ideas. Remember that forgetting is OK. The most important thing is to keep going. Good luck!

Thank you for your comment, Nayeem! I don't think you need to completely memorise the whole story. The important point is to find and remember the patterns. That's why I talk about substitution in the video. In other words, changing the content words. But if you want to memorise something, the best way is to space out your learning: - Practise one part of the story in the morning. - Try to remember it in the afternoon. - If you didn't remember it, try it again in the evening. If you did remember it, try it again the next day. - If you didn't remember it the next day, do it again a few hours later. If you did remember it, start increasing the time between practice. Try it again in two days, then four, then one week, ten days, two weeks, one month, etc. This is called spaced repetition learning. It works.

I searched for "everyday English situation dialogues" on Google and found this nice PDF. americanenglish.state.gov/files/ae/resource_files/b_dialogues_everyday_conversations_english_lo_0.pdf It covers many situations. Read it aloud as much as possible. If you don't understand something, you can ask me.
