Sai Pallavi is an extremely fair-skinned Indian woman. The pimples she says she has are on both her cheeks, symmetric, and make her look like she has blush on from a distance. She's really not the best example of an acne-prone woman whose flaws people have accepted. Plus a cursory glance at some of the comments here confirm the fair skin color bias that a lot of Indians have ("Sai Pallavi is fairer than Trisha 😒"). Bring me a dark brown skinned tamil woman who has made it as big as Sai Pallavi and then I'll accept this "Its not others, its just us" comment that Pallavi is making. Indians are the biggest colour discriminators simply due to centuries of caste and class-based oppressive systems that are closely tied with skin colour. The discrimination may not be as obvious now due to the younger gen of women understanding that being biased is not a cool thing to do, but the bias is evident when you go deep and talk to them. Somewhere or the other it will slip through. And even in this woke section, there is a class bias. Young girls from the lower socioeconomic strata still want to lighten their skintone when they purchase skincare or foundation shades. It is still normal in this strata to openly talk about wanting lighter skin colour. If we want to change this, we need to put dark skinned women in power, in prominent positions in the media and value our own dark skinned female family members as equal to their lighter-skinned counterparts.

The bias over fair skin has been ingrained deep in our society, the feeling of insecurity starts when their own parents looks down on them and compare their skin color to siblings... For instance a dark skin kid cannot wear their fav colour dress as they might look even darker.... It is sad reality...!

My story- me brought in a family where my elder sisters ,mother ,father and all are so fair.......i am darker than them. So they always mock me and tease me saying 'aur ghum dhoop mein pad gya kaala' .....earlier they mocked me every passing time........but then i get used to it as normal.....now i ain't give a shit. So they also stopped. Now i am here living in US ......i don't know why , but in my class i am considered the most handsome man among all( not try to self admire) , but hell yeah.
