We have used Brinsea Incubators to support the growth of our flock for many, many years. We trust the quality, with great hatch rates every time and they are also cost effective, paying for themselves in 1 hatch (56 eggs of which assume 50 will hatch, half will be hens. Each hen is worth £50 = £1250!)
The brand new innovation form Brinsea is the Ovation 56 EX Connect. This incubator has:
- Automatic turning
- Advanced temperature control including a programmable cooldown period that mimics a broody hen's behaviour
- Automatic Humidity Control
- Programmable alerts and alarms
- Remote monitoring & control from your smartphone using the Brinsea Connect App
This video takes you through each of these attributes and shows you just how simple it is to get alerts and monitor your eggs from your smartphone
The all new Brinsea Ovation 56 EX CONNECT is available in our UK online store englishcountrylife.com/product/brinsea-ovation-56-ex-connect-incubator/
If you're in the US, you can purchase direct from Brinsea:

I bought the Maxi 24 EX on your advice. This past season I did three hatches - all 100% hatch rate and 100% survivability of the chicks. I am so glad I followed your advice and got the Brinsea!

I have 4 Brinsea Maxi 24 Advance.....I love them!!! I'm in Canada, so they did cost quite a bit of money, but, they have been going steady since the early spring.

Thanks Hue for the good video! Have you ever tried dry incubation? A lot of ppl do it for dark eggs (e.g. Marans).

I have just shut down the last 4 of our incubators here that we have used constantly from February. I have to say that for waterfowl (geese, ducks etc.) we would definitely "not" use our Brinsea incubators they are awful for that type of bird and also do not handle the volume of birds stated when you go into lock down mode. All ours are run through a UPS so no issues with power cuts (which are common here). One other issue I find is that compared to say River System Incubators (Italy) the quality of the plastic Brinsea use is not as solid/strong. I still think they are great for meat broilers and the different chicken breeds we raise (including quail) which is what we dedicate them to.

Interesting, I don't know anyone who hatches geese, but many who raise ducks very successfully in Brinsea?

Could you please tell me if the little water motor is supposed to go around all of the time? I’ve not used mine in a while, and cannot remember, it is stopping and starting again. I have the 28 , cant do it on my phone but that’s probably not relevant to this question.

@@deborahmartin9672 It should run intermittently to allow the water to evaporate and change the humidity until the relative humidity reaches the target level that you set. Then it should stop.

@@EnglishCountryLife I put eggs in 8 hrs ago and set the humidity to 48% but it is now 60% and slightly panicking. Any advice please and is this harming the eggs?
