Book review of Daris Lessing's African short stories. He was British-Zimbabwean novelist. He born on 22 October 1919 and died in November 2013. He was awarded Nobel prize in 2007 for his services in literature. He spent early years at his birth place till 1925. Then their family was shifted to Zimbabwe. Similarly, then shifted to London city. As far his works are concerned few of them are very familiar to me. These include The grass is singing published in 1950.Then Children of violance published in 1952.Subseqently the golden note book is one of his captivating novel to me. It was published in 1962. His literary period includes so many moments. These include Modernism, Postmodernism, Sufism, Socialism, femenizim and scepticism. As one reads deeply his novels, he is introduced to many of these movements. As far as, I have gone through his literature. I have found in him the pain felt for his contemporaries. As on one occasion, he remarks, "I have read the lives of many authors and I have found one common subject of stressful childhood in their lives" His theme is reflected in his famous novel "The sun rise on the veld" Therefore I felt to have micro review on this novel in order to spotlight on his literary services. Basically, my analysis has found the story very interesting as the main character who is child goes through many stages in his life. He had extraordinary trust on him that he can control everything but on the death buck that is animal he finds himself helpless. His stressful is very beautifully presented by author. As I found the child a very Complex child because he awakens three nights to judge his skills. He works entire days. His hunting is surprising for reader as story took pace in uncultivated veld south African land. He went there but suddenly listened shrieking sound of buck. He find back wound and He feels untold sensations for it. Hence, finally he realizes the bitterness of world. The story is well depicted and it makes the reader easy to find the painful childhood theme in the story. At the end, I am happy to read such mastered story writters
