@@EnglishUnitsdear demo : i wanna be hired in a institute as a teacher . At first they ask me about how do you teach vocabulary & i have to presentation it. I wanna know teaching voc is this way or not .
@EnglishUnits5 жыл бұрын
Hi Fereshteh A, different places (even different regions in one country or city) have different views on the best way to teach vocabulary...so I'm not sure for your area what is expected. Personally, my approach is to point out the word and ask the student if he or she sees any context clues in the sentence that help us to know the meaning. Next, I ask if they see any clues to meaning in the root, prefix, or suffix of the word. After this, I call on another student or two, then I confirm the meaning. After doing this with several words, I provide sentences and questions to practice those words again. At the beginning of the next class and the next, I always repeat the words we've learned in a game, or quick practice.

My teacher tell me to write texte and using one of the context clues , but i don't know how. can you help me please??!
@EnglishUnits5 жыл бұрын
Hm. I am not sure what the teacher wants...Maybe sentences that contain a word + a context clue that helps readers guess the word meaning. (Example: We got a new puppy, and we love how he wags his tail and barks at us to play.) Do you see the word (puppy) + context clues that help us understand what a puppy is (tail and bark)? Maybe your teacher wants text with a few sentences like this.

What we do when 2 unfamiliar word comes in one sentance?
@EnglishUnits3 жыл бұрын
Hello, that happens often! In that case, focus on any clue in the sentence about the 2 unfamiliar words--word parts, cognates or definitions. Guessing the meaning of one word will help you guess the meaning of the other word. Also, you might not need both words. Look at #1 (01:43). The word "clandestine" is given in the second sentence. But that sentence has 10 words! We need to understand only 1 of those 10 words ("secret") to know the meaning of "clandestine." The other 9 words aren't as important.

Hi englsh units this is teacher very smart i need help u about independents cause and dependent cause please
@EnglishUnits5 жыл бұрын
Hello Nawar, thank you! Independent and dependent clauses can be difficult--but I will try to help. Look at this sentence: I like rice because it is delicious. --Independent clause=a group of words that you can understand alone Example: I like rice. --Dependent clause=a group of words that you can NOT understand alone. These clauses begin with a word like these: because, as, so, if, when, whenever, which, who, etc. Example: because it's delicious. Here is a link with more information and a quiz--I hope it helps you: www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/story.php?title=independent-dependent-clauses-1
