Literally just came back from a video from a guy who couldn't stop calling Sean a liar even when it was explained 'hey, dude might not have actually been lying, game development is a freaky thing and things get dropped from games a lot' and that it really didn't help that both 1) the internet has surprisingly good memories but unsurprisingly bad expectations and 2) games media hypes things way too freaking much, sometimes outright lying themselves. But it was still just that Sean was a liar. So yeah, I think I get what you're saying and I do actually agree.

@@LordTyph Except he objectively did lie about many things. It isn't up for debate. He may have undergone a redemption arc, but he still deliberately misled customers in order to sell product. He may not be the only one that did anything wrong, but people need to stop acting like he was somehow innocent. He simply wasn't.

I remember when this game released. I was in the camp where I bought it, was extremely disappointed and angry, and wasn’t eligible for a refund. Imagine my surprise when I kept getting notifications about major patches and eventually broke my resolve, re-installed the game and had a fucking blast with it. A true redemption arc. Good for them for putting in the work instead of just rolling over.

They're still fixing it too. No mans sky is a lot more fun now. Still for a particular audience, but there is definitely a whole hell of a lot more to experience now, and the game actually feels kinda dangerous and vibrant now. Granted the patch recently caused some issues for people, but for most people it was an improvement (bunch of biome changes, which kinda fucked it up for people who found planets that looked specifically the way they wanted)

I spent the entirety of No Man's Sky's released life enraged and bitter by the short coming it initially launched as I never stepped back to see the bigger picture. I was one of those people who would always talk shit about the game even up till IH did the flip around I was still thinking of Sean as this slimy corporate sleazeball. I was wrong.

@@SchrollShepard to ssay it went to shit would be an understatement. grind (even more now), new player experience, bannings left and right, china, no real objectie, riven shit, liches, DE just pumps out all that stuff and always claims "THIS will be your endgame, this will be a finished project, youre gonna like THIS" but it never is that way. open worlds suck after a few hours of playtime, all the standing gates, they even flat out FORGET that stuff exists. buffs, nerfs, all around retardedness from the devs. I'm out. and fashionframe is not content. The thing that irks me the most is that you ant play other games if you play warframe. if you play doom you can boot it up, exit at any time, not play it for weeks etc. with warframe, you are locked into your sessions and daily missions and you have to log in once every day. purest form of addiciton

Hello games messed up bad, they failed terribly, and wound up becoming hated by the entire world, yet rather than try and defend themselves or complain, they took that giant beating, dusted themselves off, and put in the time, money and effort to give us what they promised. They crawled, kicking and screaming the whole time, all the way to the top.

This was an inspiring comeback, and a great tale of consumer-friendly practices. I've only recently picked up the game finally, and it really is good. Bit of a learning curve, but there's a good KZbin community for tutorials. I just hope I see a similar story with Cyberpunk in about a year.

Loved your reaction to the video. I would definitely recommend you try out No Man's Sky, it's really awesome now and they still release updates every few months that add a lot of content. I never bought it at release, but I got it a few months ago for psvr and have really been loving it. And since the video by internet historian came out, they've released 3 more updates: the living ship update which allows you to find biological ships via a special quest, the exo mech update which allows you to acquire giant robots suits you can traverse in, and the desolation update which adds horror elements to the game (all these updates add a lot more stuff, but that's just a basic summary of each). And there's going to be another update that was just announced today that will be released next week, the update is called origins, but we still don't know what it's about.
