You do can earn the hammers without using gems or without spending money. On milage you can use magic metals to buy green hammers for 1,5k, and it's 3 a month. Not that hard to farm if you a late game player. ❤

Tbf they could also just add more diverse content. Add better deals for paid packs in the game instead of this, so people are more willing to spend money. People are not gonna whale when all f2p/casuals quit.

Guardian Tales made around $500K A MONTH. That is INCREDIBLY LOW for a gacha game of this quality. While I still have my gripes with this system, i'm totally fine with it. It's not completely pay walled and it allows whales to further their stats for more gratification, and gives F2Ps a chance to bring their unit's closer to max potential too. This and the platinum tier pass i'm okay with. GT is f2p friendly enough. Let them make money; Kong will put it to good use.

@@rexnatori I see your point but I believe this is like applying a band-aid to an infected wound. As you can see from reading the comments here in this comment section or on other places where people talk about this update; its super polarizing. In an already small community of players I don't think it's the best or even 2nd/3rd best option to introduce an update like this. I love this game for its story and want to see it flourish, but this stuff is a short term monetary boost to their income that will break the trust of their community and frankly will cause a lot of people just just quit. People being unhappy with the state of the game is not bad, people being indifferent and quitting is.

I'm more worried that they'd use this system as a pay wall for future story content. If the story can still be passed with normal equipment, I have no issue, but otherwise, I'll probably just quit and watch yt videos to know the story

What pay to win? I can have 1 hammer a week by sweeping gold dungeon. Before update. Now it's even easier since hammer now included in events rewards. Go play Lilith games, and experience true pay to win

Engraving: Through engraving, you can grant for exclusive weapons additional stats (by spending dupes/lb hammers) with a maximum of 5 attempts (the maximum possible stat is guaranteed on the 5th attempt). Engraving additional stats only works for the owner of the exw. Engraving stats are not random, but weapon determined. unpopular opinion: I really don't understand what the majority are complaining about, I'm f2p and totally casual. The engraving of weapons, for the vast majority of characters, will only require spending a hammer (for 15% attack and health). It will only be in very few characters that it really pays to have the variable statistic at the maximum (Camilla, Andras, Claudio). For the rest, having a decent statistic will be more than enough to be in the top 100 in arena, coliseum, and do good damage in raid. The latter is the one that stood out the most, since of the wide range of raiding characters, only a few benefit from the additional variable statistics. So don't panic, everything will stay the same.

It's not that because it only affects 0.1% of the fan base then it's acceptable. This system requires way too much grinding and money for F2P players. Unless they make hammers cost less, nobody is going to be happy about this! I would understand if it gave like +5% or something little, but it increases stats by a mile, making not-engraved weapons trash compared. Good stats aren't all you need, you also need collection and a lot of luck.

F2p players can dominate in pvp areas but it takes time to have a strong team. So for the f2p players out there, just be PATIENT and don't spread valuable resources such us green hammers and blessing mats.

Not really, i stay for 3 years then taking a break for last 4 months (i getting addicted to other game). Just login it again yesterday. It kinda like improvement and bonus for veteran players i think. I getting addicted to "Cookie Run : Ovenbreak". That is not f2p friendly game. You can't do anything to dominate the rank and level up your characters/skills faster other than spending money. Just enjoy the game. That's why that game still active for 15 years already. It appealing for whales.
