This short video shows the entire process of making a relief engraving on a block of Resingrave, from transferring the drawing to actual engraving to printing the final edition. A Resingrave block is a synthetic material that is a great substitute for end-grain boxwood (traditionally used for wood engraving but very expensive).
I buy my blocks and tools from McClains Printmaking Supply: www.imcclains.com/catalog/bloc...
Other supplies I am using are a Conrad E-15 Etching Press, Black oil-based relief ink from Graphic Chemical, and Mohawk Superfine Paper..
The LENK transfer tool I use can be found here: a.co/d/3sz4hOR
The wooden jig that holds the blocks and paper on the pressbed is something a friend of mine made to custom fit my press. It is basically a simple frame with a cross piece attached to a thinner plywood. I hope to make a future video on how to make one.
“FRED!” was printed in a limited edition of 90 S&N prints. They are available in our Etsy shop HERE: www.etsy.com/SpoffordPress/li...
