Hello, first of all, thank you for the demo video. I didn't understand one thing. You used a sticky paper to mask the design and engrave it with the laser, but I didn't understand how the laser engraved on the bamboo if the mask was covering it? Or did the laser first cut the paper and then engrave it? Could you explain? Thanks

Yes it was a mask, it’s actually vinyl transfer roll. I used it to hope to try not to get burn marks by & on my cutting board. It cut through the masking at first but I ran it a second time to get a better engrave :) I mainly used the masking because I didn’t have air assist on my laser at the time of engraving the cutting board.

That looks awesome! I know your setting was 100% the second time, but what was the speed you used?

I believe I used the preset in light box basic for basswood… I believe it was either 50 or 60… I will have to check when I get home :)

Lol need a lab coat and rubber gloves you would look like a mad scientist with those glasses .. hehehe... I mean it would be perfect since your running experiments amazing all the stuff your learning about this machine!! The only way to know if you prefer masking or not is to try both ways.

Hahah yes for sure!! I’m happy they fit over my regular glasses! If not I would be see all fuzzy stuff instead haha! Lots of experiments with this machine for sure!! I plan to get more boards and practice!
