for people who don't know, in china they have this "voluntary guardianship" which is a process of appointing your own guardian (not necessarily blood family) by law when you reached 18 or above. guardian here means if anything happened to someone (like needing surgery, etc) their guardian would be able to give their consent. in china, this law is used as a "loophole" by same-sex couple to do as a symbolism for their 'marriage' ~ liucong & chenlv are only a few months into the relationship and already talking about 'marriage' 😝
