The series was good and logically until this episode 21, where they tried to force modern woke-ness in an era that were impossible for these ideals: 1. Women divorce men. 2. Mrs. Qin incident, where the female lead even lied to the whole family about Qin didn’t steal her garment to harm her; she got caught stealing by a maid! And even kept her in the family after giving her the right for divorce to exonerate her crime. It’s so ridiculous.

Actually I thonk it touches a very important subject: domestic violence. It is still happening to a lot of women all around the world. And those those reasons are still the reason why women put up with it.

And it’s ridiculous on so many levels as well; they even made the female lead to lie to the whole Hua family about Mrs. Qin didn’t steal the garment when in fact she did steal but got caught by the maid. The Hua family is all about righteous, but they have made the female lead gone astray to do what she wanted, in turn the Hua family is start to corrupt just like any other families in that era.
