If the drama was to be convincing, the two main characters need to be a little more removed from each other instead of appearing like they are sometimes flirting. Why is there this ambience of a love-hate relationship? She is not being discreet about her investigation, and it almost appears as if Pan Yue enjoys annoying her. And because the disconnect between the two female actresses playing Yang Caiwei is so blatant, it is hard not to want the original actress to play female lead the entire time bc she was more believable when acting out the investigation scenes, and she had a more self-assured, dignified yet witty aura in general that doesn't rely on being playful and cute to be charismatic. And bc of this huge gap in interpretation, the whole production suffers as a result. Liu Xueyi's awesome acting in this ep is unfortunately not matched by the performance of JJY, who, although has improved compared to previous dramas, is not able to naturally portray a female character that is principled and resilient, continuing to return to her comfort zone of cute and feminine, not out of reliance, but because she simply can't interpret qualities in a female character that aren't stereotypical in the olden day genre.

It's really sad because I was really getting into it, then the actress was so abruptly switched out, and unfortunately the casting was not done right for the role of post-switch Yang Caiwei/Shangguan Zhi. Ju Jingyi isn't bad with acting, but she is not capable yet of pulling off such an important role that requires acting completely differently from the kinds of roles she has performed previously. She needed a lot more acting growth before she would be capable of this complex role. I really wish the casting director had made a wiser choice.

Ну , а в внутри она уже другая - это выходит наружу постепенно, шаг за шагом. 😮 Режиссёр не ошибся с выбором её кукольной внешности. 🎉 Между двумя ,девушками должен быть большой разрыв ( разница ) во внешности и характере.
