I love how real and honest Rain is when he talks about difficult situations he has faced in his personal life, as well as his public life, and how it made him feel. It's hard to just put it all out there and let everyone see what's going on in your heart because in that moment, you decided to just be you. This moment wasn't rehearsed, but he went with it. That takes courage and strength. This is why soooooo many people love and respect Rain. He deserves it.

Yeah beyond many interpretation of feelings, i think the same way like u, it's not just about those crazy fans of rain who admire more about him, but this moment is like a reflection back to what he facing while in those days he struggles to succeed & so does this guy, unfortunately there's only one winner in every competition, but even though rain wins, he also acknowledge what this guy do for one of his work in his drama, he did a wonderful thing performing really great to deliver this song at its best so it can touch many listeners & make the drama more fit within people heart, but despite that rain also didn't know what kind a struggle this guy went through, of course, he just a human being, there's so many performers he meet, he can't help all of them, even he still have his own struggle that make him doesn't satisfy of what he achieved, yet on another side this guy fate is like slapping him for not being grateful bcoz of ambition, although they share the same stage to fight for success

Also they did comment before the performance something like “if he is a talented singer Rain will join him in an amazing performance, but if he is a tone deaf singer Rain will be his back up dancer for the rest of the performance.” So they were expecting him to sing I guess. But to be honest, it was so touching that I didn’t mind him sitting down and enjoying the performance!

Rain said it at the start of the episode, he will not sing together with the person he will choose in the end if that person is a talented singer. Because he said as a singer its important for them to sing on stage and shine, so he wants to give it to the person he will choose the time to shine. But if he choose the toned deaf, he will be a back up dance for that person
